Hello - I'm Andrew

I’m a Data Scientist and Analyst completing my MSBA at UT Austin McCombs (May 2026), building end-to-end machine learning and analytics solutions that turn complex data into actionable decisions. My background in client-facing roles at Oracle NetSuite and Ooni gives me a strong understanding of real-world business problems and how data drives strategy and outcomes.

I build end-to-end projects in Python, R, and SQL — from data cleaning and feature engineering through modeling, evaluation, and clear communication of results. My work focuses on applied machine learning, predictive modeling, and analytics across structured and unstructured data, including NLP workflows and scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and SQL.

I’m currently developing a portfolio of practical, real-world projects and seeking full-time Data Science or Data Analyst opportunities starting in 2026.

My Story

For the last three and a half years of my career before starting my Masters of Science in Business Analytics at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, I worked in sales. At Oracle/NetSuite and Ooni, my job was to persuade, pitch, and close  while living on calls and demos. But the part I kept thinking about wasn’t the pitch or the selling, it was why one person says yes, another hesitates, and what actually drives individuals decisions beneath the surface.

Over time, I became less interested in selling products and more curious about something deeper:

  • Why do people make the decisions they do?

  • What signals show up before behavior changes?

  • What stories are hidden in data that most people never look for?

That curiosity pulled me into data science.

I’m now completing my MSBA at UT Austin (May 2026), focused on applying data science, analytics, and machine learning to understand behavior and build systems that support real decisions. I don’t see data science as just dashboards or model scores, but I see it as a way to understand systems and behavior, and then turn that understanding into something useful.

I currently build end-to-end projects in Python, R, and SQL, from raw, messy datasets to feature engineering, modeling, evaluation, and clear communication. My strongest work spans applied machine learning, analytics, and data engineering, with an emphasis on building systems that hold up in the real world and drive decisions.

Coming from sales gives me a different lens than most technical profiles. I’ve seen how decisions are actually made: fast, messy, and often with incomplete information. That’s why I care less about “perfect” models and more about building work that holds up in the real world, ones that are interpretable, practical, and tied to a decision someone can act on.

When I’m not working, I enjoy staying active, traveling, and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities that Austin, TX has to offer.

Right now, I’m building a portfolio of applied projects across technology, sports, media, and human performance. I’m open to full-time roles in 2026 where I can keep growing and contribute to meaningful, people-centered work.
